Why don't policyholders like offline inspections and how does VIEWAPP address this issue?
There are several important things in insurance that require an inspection - that is, an examination.
These are the well-known insurance steps such as:
- Acceptance of the object for insurance;
- Loss settlement.
Before the advent of the VIEWAPP digital remote inspection app, in all of these cases, inspections by insurers were done offline manually. That is, in order to inspect the required property, you had to send your representative to take photos and videos according to certain regulations, which then had to be taken to the office, transferred to the appropriate department, so that it would be stored in the format and location as it was customary for that company for further processing.
Not only did the insured have to make an appointment with an on-site specialist and remove himself from his work or personal affairs, but it also required a huge amount of time and energy, because, for example, country property is located at a distance from the capital, and you need to go there, and then do all this formal work with the expert, because he needs to show and tell everything, that is, in any case, fully participate in the inspection procedure.
With VIEWAPP, the digital inspection platform is completely different: the insurance company gives the insured access to the VIEWAPP application, in which the necessary inspection scenarios are already in place. The insured then inspect their property on their own at their convenience, following a built-in instruction with easy-to-follow prompts for each step. There is no need to travel to the insurer's office or send a large amount of data - all information immediately gets to the server for further processing, provided there is an Internet connection (if there is no Internet connection, the data will be processed immediately upon appearance of Internet connection). Digital inspection takes much less time than in-person inspection - it's an undeniable fact!
In cases where insurers do not send their specialists for inspections - and this is also still possible, when they can accept the insurance based on photos and videos of the insured himself, there are several more painful aspects both for the insured and for the insurer:
- The insured must somehow fulfill the insurer's inspection requirements under the regulations, or they will not be accepted for insurance;
- Photos and videos taken may be fraudulently manipulated.
Fraudulent manipulation is the terrible scourge of insurance companies, because time and again malefactors try to get the "easy" money, especially since in property and auto insurance we can talk about millions of payments.
With VIEWAPP technology everything becomes much easier - there is built-in protection against fraud and data spoofing, which not only uses smartphone sensors, but also checksums are reconciled, reducing the efforts of fraudsters to nothing.
Offline technology is fast receding into the past as a kind of anachronism, remaining only in heavily conservative and clumsy businesses, where pre-digital notions of doing business and fear of impending change still "rule the ball". Or there are other equally unpleasant factors in the form of corruption components or a misconception about the realization of savings from the introduction of the latest digital technologies.
