Most of the accelerator program is actually passed, just around the corner - the finish line; It is time to start the first joint pilot projects.
On the demo day, each team presents the project it has been working on during the whole training period. The jury make their observations and startups have the opportunity to correct minor flaws in the innovative product almost ready to enter the market. Insurance companies-partners of the platform Insurtech 2.0 have appreciated the significant progress of the teams and made rational offers on how to enhance the functionality of projects.
Insurtech 2.0 is an important step to success. Teams study the needs of customers, correct mistakes, consult on various issues with competent specialists. The acceleration program is completely free, it lasts 12 weeks, during which startups establish close cooperation with well-known brands, test their development in real conditions. The output is a finished product.
The selection
Teams wishing to take part in Insurtech 2.0 accelerator filed their applications. According to the rules, startups must go through two stages of selection:
• correspondence;
• full-time.
First, the jury members filtered out projects that from their point of view were not relevant at the moment for fintech companies. The remaining applicants, there were 25 of them, were invited to the pitch session. The most promising 17 startups go to the final.
And what about the program?
Intensive training includes a course of lectures on marketing, audience analysis and other important issues. Teams prepare and demonstrate pitches – brief structured presentations of startups, acquire useful practical skills, for example, master tactics of negotiating with investors. Focusing on the pros of the startup, it is much easier to find an interested company to launch a pilot project.
On the “guest days”, participants deliver speeches at partners' sites, make public presentations, talk with employees of different departments of insurance companies – all this allows to create a complete picture and adapt the product to a specific company.
At the traction rallies, participants of the accelerator share achievements, talk about difficulties and plan further actions. At the reporting meetings, a friendly atmosphere reigns, teams mobilize and set priorities.
A tracker supports a startup and gives useful tips throughout the internship period. The tracker is an experienced mentor with all the necessary knowledge and skills. The team meets with him on the first day of classes. One of his responsibilities is to diagnose a project in order to identify key problems and focus on them.
