VIEWAPP is exploring global markets for expansion
One of the most interesting emerging markets is Brazil, which VIEWAPP is getting to know with the help of the Internet Development Initiative Fund (IDIF), in particular through a GoBrazil webinar on 10 August entitled "How does an IT business operate in Brazil?", which was attended by more than 130 interested parties, so the interest in the country is certainly not fake.
This webinar turned out to be very useful, as it was attended directly by those who have already managed to successfully localize in the Brazilian market, and it was extremely important to hear the observations they made when faced with the local mentality and its peculiarities. In particular, it was interesting to hear the observation that it takes on average 4 to 6 months from the moment a product is offered to the moment it is actually purchased, and this is an important feature to consider when planning a promotion.
The Brazilian market is also different in that the startup needs to become what they call a friend, which means it has to be absolutely trusted in order to use the technology or service, so the startup has to be recommended by someone, and it has to be from the Brazilian side. So, start-ups are clearly coming to the conclusion that it is not possible to start a business remotely in Brazil - you have to be present in person and embed in the environment, so to speak, to be accepted as "one of their own".
The FRII provides very strong support to startups to develop their technologies, services or products, to test their strategies and then to successfully promote them in global markets. The more thoroughly information is processed and analysed at the outset, the more accurate the decisions made regarding expansion will be.
